PRIVATE TREATY

All of the cattle listed are cake-broke and easy to handle, NO EXCEPTIONS. We pride ourselves on our ability to handle ALL of our cattle with a minimum of labor and stress. All of our cattle are penned horseback at a walk slow and easy ----usually with just two hands. We routinely feed cake to rotate pastures and monitor health.

These cattle are located in various locations in South Texas and are generally centered in the Beeville-George West area. All calves of age are "worked" ---8-way, Synovex C, and steers are knife cut. We also scoop the horns and eartag them - no earmarks.

We own 100% of all the cattle listed with the exception of about 10% that we currently own no less than one-half interest in. This amount will increase over time to as much as 15-20% as we stock some of our "Pasture Partner" ranches in the upcoming months. These relationships are discussed in detail in our "About Us" section. Occasionally, we will list some "Customer Cattle" we are brokering for a fee to some of our valued associates.

Our Registered Brahman cattle have tied up so much country that we have been exploring other opportunities to turn out cattle. The recent droughts in South and Central Texas have also added to our desire to place cattle in other areas, both to rest our pastures and to take advantage of replacement cattle we can acquire for re-sale that wouldn't be available under normal circumstances. Accordingly, we have recently expanded our business to include other areas of the state where we custom pasture cattle.

We have been pasturing cattle with Leonard Cattle Company near Laneville in Northeast Texas since the summer of 2008. Leonard Singletary and Billy King have worlds of country tied up near Laneville and they handle cattle exactly like we do. They are also extremely professional in the way they take care of our customers as well as our cattle. We plan on keeping available country stocked up there as long as it continues to be mutually beneficial and even enlarging our position in the area as opportunities arise.

52 true F-1 Three yr olds with their 2nd calves at side born December and January. We handpicked these from the Braman (pronounced Brey-munn) herd near Refugio, Texas. These cattle bred back while nursing their first calves at side during the Spring of '09 drought. Their first calves were born December of '08 and January '09 and they haven't skipped a beat breeding back in spite of the unprecedented dry weather!
These cattle handle beautifully horseback and will come to cake. The calves were fully worked (Cynovex-C, 8-way, and knife-cut castration). We also wormed the cows AND the calves with Ivomec-plus. All the cows are cosmetically dehorned and all are Tigerstripe motley faced with the exception of 5 Chocolate motley-faces. Bulls will be turned out on the cows during the week of March 10th. Located on the LaSalle Ranch near Port O'Conner, Texas.

54 Santa Gertrudis/Hereford cross heifers calving now to Gardiner Angus Bulls. 24 calves on the ground as of March 1. Calves are fully worked (Synovex-C, 8-way, and knife-castrated). All the heifers are cosmetically dehorned and the breds are due to calve within the next 60 days. These broody heifers all bred during the drought of '09 in South Texas where the effects were the most profound! Very uniform color pattern and the quality is excellent. These cattle were handpicked from the Nunley Ranch near Sabinal, Texas. We have calved out 100 of their Black mates up in Laneville this winter and have had almost no trouble. They are without a doubt, the best calving heifers we have ever handled! These red motley-faced heifers are bred to the same bulls and have an excellent disposition. They are almost too gentle! Unmistakable quality, youth, disposition, and fertility in one package coming from one of the oldest ranching families in South Texas. Located on the LaSalle Ranch near Port O'Conner, Texas.

40 Good Grey Brahman yearling heifers, calfhood vaccinated and cosmetically dehorned. Ready for bulls this Spring. Gentle as house cats! Will follow you anywhere!

Located at the Valley Ranch, 8 miles west of Beeville on FM 799.

206 - Four, coming Five year old Brangus cows. All are one-iron, calfhood vaccinated, high quality females. These excellent brood cows, in the prime of their lives, are all carrying a "5" year brand along with a small inconspicuous holding brand of the ranch that owned them from the time they were handpicked as babies. They never had left the ranch they were raised on till now!

We just received these cattle the 18th and 19th of January and have them pastured in these groups along with their locations:

99 - Pairs with Brangus Camp Cooley sired calves at side. All pairs have been fully
worked, including worming the cows, worming the calves, castrating the bull calves, Cynovex-C, and 8-way.
Calves will weigh 250-300 January 20th. 5 rested, Registered Tommy Reeh (pronounced "Ray") Brangus bulls turned out January 27th.
Located on the Pettus Riverdale Ranch, 10 miles SW of Goliad, Texas on FM 1351.

Most recent photos taken March 2, 2010.

107 - Pairs, exact mates to the above. It is a gate cut and all the calves will be worked in February. 4 young, rested Tommy Reeh Brangus bulls have been turned out on these cattle as of January 27th. One or two more will be added as the calves get older.
Located on the Pawnee Division of Crow Ranches, Inc. 3 miles SW of Pawnee, Texas on County Road 131.

These cattle were standing in mud when we bought them. The mud is still noticeable in the photos. These cattle were being fed everything they were getting. The pastures they were on were totally out of feed. They were a little thin when they were shipped but are turning around almost by the minute! They are going on good native rested pastures.

The Riverdale cattle are going on the San Antonio River bottom where we flew Triticale in earlier this Winter.

The Pawnee cattle are going on cured Klein grass fields with lots of Texas Winter weeds. The calves in particular have responded well and will have some steers that will top any market and some dynamite replacement heifers.

We couldn't leave their home ranch without taking some photos of the sires of these
calves. We think they are literally the best Bulls money can buy. You be the judge! The quality of the calves will be just as outstanding as the sires. They don't have a choice because the mamas are superb individuals too!

122 True F-1 Braford open heifers - These heifers were handpicked from local breeders. Lots of these heifers will weigh 700 lbs. and the rest are not far behind.

Here is a breakdown on their origin:
54 of these heifers originated from Panther Hollow Ranch near Dilley, Texas. This Ranch topped our Nixon Sale in September by buying the top selling Brahman pairs and bred heifers. They buy nothing but the best and the quality of these heifers show it. They have paid up to $5,000 for Hereford Bulls at Dudley Brothers to get the very top bulls.

14 were raised by Sidney Smith of George West, Texas. The Smiths are long time Hereford breeders and their F-1's are out of Hereford cows and sired by Hudgins and Gill Ranch Brahman Bulls.

20 of the heifers were raised by Cabeza Cattle Company from Nordheim, Texas. They have a large herd of Brahman cows and mate them to the very best Hereford bulls available.

The balance of these heifers were acquired a few at a time from Middleton Ranch out of Registered Hereford cows and Hudgins Bulls and from Stewart Morris from Wharton out of Registered Brahman cows and Registered Hereford Bulls. Only True F-1 heifers are in this group.

All cosmetically dehorned, calfhood vaccinated, and worked with cutting horses till they were dog gentle. We feel lucky to have acquired these heifers. Great color pattern with lots of tigerstripes and a few chocolates. "Hard-to-find" cattle, perfect to breed this Spring.

Located near Beeville, Texas.

100 Big Black heifers bred to calve January, February and March to good Camp Cooley Angus bulls handpicked for calving ease. All these excellent heifers are jet black and actually are Angus/Santa Gertrudis cross originating from the renowned Nunley Ranch near Sabinal, Texas. They are out of Nunley Ranch Purebred Santa Gertrudis cows and a stout set of Gardiner Angus bulls. All the cattle have been pelvic measured and examined for any breeding abnormalities. They are also calfhood vaccinated AND blood tested. They have had a complete health work-up and are sound in every way. Weighing 1,000 lbs. and showing lots of quality and thickness. These cattle must be extraordinarily fertile. They bred in the heat of the Summer during one of the most severe droughts South Texas has ever experienced! The disposition is above reproach. They are almost TOO gentle! Is there such a thing? They have to be pushed out of the way horseback and will call to cake. They have been put to the test in terms of hardiness, fertility, and heat acclimation. One raising, one iron cattle coming from one of the historic original Big Ranches left in South Texas.

Located at Laneville, Texas, Northeast of Nacogdoches. Selling as pairs with a March 1 delivery.

113 Two year old heifers (Brangus & Crossbreds) from one South Texas Ranch. All are calfhood vaccinated, no brands and dehorned.

Shown here this June with their 1st calves at side. All the calves have been shipped October 8, 2009 and they are selling WITHOUT THE CALVES exposed to have their second babies. The protein has been doubled up on them to mend them up for the Winter. The cows were wormed late in May and again when we shipped the calves.

The Brangus will be exposed as of July 8th to registered horned Hereford Bulls to have their second calves. The Crossbreds will be exposed to Registered Angus Bulls as of June 25th to have their second calves.

The cattle are shown here last June in the middle of the drought with their first calves at side. We acquired them from our good friend, Ray Welder, Jr. of Beeville, my Dad's C Troop Aggie classmate back in 1955. They were near Blanconia, Texas and were just about out of grass. We moved them to lush Summer pasture in East Texas before they were too far gone. They were wormed in late May and again when we shipped the calves on October 8, 2009.

We had been rotating the bulls every six weeks to keep them fresh and had a good protein supplement program on them. Additionally, we "strutted" the heifers, i.e., the calves were pulled off for exactly 48 hours and put back on them to tighten up the breeding and avoid as many Summer calves as possible. We also creep fed the calves to try to back them off the cows a little. We expect a good breed up. There will be a few early calves, but most should come March, April, and May.

These cattle are not only gentle, but extremely thrifty, tough, and fertile. They got bred for the first time and raised their first calves in the worst drought to hit south Texas in a long time. They are in the prime of their lives.
